We are strong believers in using Open Source Technology where appropriate. Most of our solutions rely on the Linux Operating System, Apache Web Server, MySQL Database, and Perl Programming. The advantages with Linux are it's stability, security, and virus invulnerabilities. You don't have to take our word for it, just watch the news. When a new virus rears its ugly face have you ever heard of Sun Microsystems having problems. No, it's usually those that use Windows. There's also a very good reason for using the Apache Web Server: it's Open Source and more use it than ALL the other web servers combined. MySQL is also Open Source, and although it's no Oracle or Sybase it can outperform both at a greatly lower cost. And Perl powers the Web like no other language. True there are some limitations, but that only applies to a small percentage of web sites.

Simply put we are firm believers in the KISS rule . . . "Keep it simple, stupid".

One more thing, we have a life outside of work so by selecting Unix servers we don't have to hover over them on the weekends like those with Windows NT, 2000, or 2003 servers.

Now, after all that if a customer still insists on a Windows solution we will do our absolute best to give them what they want. However, if a solution is exposed to an Intranet OR the Internet be advised that we will only give a very limited warranty.
